Proposal process

To apply for beamtime at the Australian Synchrotron, submit an application via the online proposal system.  Proposals are accepted 3 times a year (see key dates). 

Proposals are peer reviewed for scientific merit by a specialist committee. The technical feasibility of the proposal is also reviewed.  Proposals are then allocated time based on these reviews by the Proposal Allocation Committee (PAC) for each beamline. 

Users are then notified by the User Office of the outcomes of these allocations.
